OUR STORY · EST. 1958 · FOUR GENERATIONS · HAUPPAUGE, NY
From a butcher's bench in Europe to 50,000 sq ft on Long Island.
The Brodman family has been cutting meat, building relationships, and feeding New York since 1958. We're big enough to run 25+ trucks daily and process hundreds of thousands of pounds a week. We're still small enough that when you call, a Brodman picks up.
1920 — Europe
1st Generation — Joseph Brodman
Joseph Brodman earns his Master Butcher certification in Europe, establishing the standards of quality and craftsmanship that would define every generation after him.
1970s — Bronx, New York
2nd Generation — Werner Brodman
Werner Brodman brings the family tradition to America, opening a butcher shop in the Bronx. Carrying Joseph's European standards, he builds a reputation for quality, integrity, and personal service — laying the groundwork for what Casanova would become.
1980s — Freeport & Copiague, Long Island
3rd Generation — Werner & Joel Brodman
Joel Brodman joins the family business and works alongside his father to expand operations. Together they grow the retail butcher business across Long Island, opening additional locations and building lasting relationships in the community.
2000s — West Babylon, NY
3rd Generation — Joel Brodman
As restaurant demand grows, Joel transitions from retail to wholesale distribution — launching a dedicated operation in West Babylon, Long Island. Direct farm relationships are established with Greater Omaha, JBS, Nebraska Beef, National Beef, and Amick Farms, and Casanova's refrigerated fleet begins serving restaurants across the Northeast.
2024 — Hauppauge, NY
4th Generation — The Brodman Family
The Brodman family opens the most ambitious chapter in Casanova's history: a state-of-the-art 50,000 sq ft USDA-inspected cutting and distribution facility in Hauppauge, NY. With over 100 employees and a growing fleet, the company continues to scale while preserving the family values that began with a single butcher in Europe more than a century ago.

THE FULL STORY
FOUR GENERATIONS. ONE STANDARD.
Casanova Meats isn't a corporation that bought a distribution network. It'sa family that built one — butcher shop by butcher shop, relationship by relationship, over eight decades.
Large enough to handle your volume. Small enough to know your name.
direct-receiver relationships with the top beef and poultry farms in the country. We cut 70,000 pounds of oxtail every single week. And yet — Casanova Meats is still run like the neighborhood butcher shop it started as. That's not an accident. That's a choice the Brodman family makes every day. When you call us, a real person picks up. When your order needs adjusting, a real person fixes it. That is the Casanova way — and it has been since 1958.
